Check out this octagonal barreled Rifled "Kentucky" style rifle, which more correctly is known as a Pennsylvania Rifle. This example is actually made using a BRITISH TRADE back-action percussion lock mechanism marked ATKINSON / WARRANTED on the lock plate. This lock was made by Joseph Atkinson of Lancaster, Lancashire, England who worked at 145 St. Leonard's Gate between 1840 and 1869. This Imported Trade Percussion lock was then acquired by American Gunsmith very possibly in Pennsylvania around which he hand made this fine Pa. Long Rifle.
